Dan Goyder (Linklaters & Paines; former MMC Deputy Chairman and Visiting Professor, King’s College, University of London) reviews the history of the Monopolies and Mergers Commission from its beginnings in 1948 until its replacement on 1 April 1999 by the European-law inspired, Competition Commission.
