Abstract

Paul Heatherington of Eversheds (Newcastle upon Tyne) explains the facts of the case Williams v National Life Health Foods Ltd [1997] BCC 605 in which the managing director of a franchiser company incorporated with limited liability was held personally liable for making negligent misstatements to a prospective franchisee. Note published in Amicus Curiae - Journal of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and its Society for Advanced Legal Studies.
