The Journal of the Friends Historical Society https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs
The Journal of the Friends Historical Society began in 1904 to promote the study of Quaker History and to increase the knowledge of the religious beliefs of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The scope is broad and includes detailed examination of some aspects of Quaker history and the lives and influence of individuals who have had an impact on the Society of Friends whether Quakers or not, to more wide ranging analysis of social and religious trends. Occasional supplements have been issued when the editor has received submissions considered too lengthy for an issue but of sufficient importance to warrant publication. Book reviews are a standard feature. There are occasional illustrations. Indexing has been irregular and sometimes selective. A cumulative typescript index was made in the late 1960s.

Please click on the Archives tab to view all past issues of this journal.
Friends Historical Society en-US The Journal of the Friends Historical Society Contents https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5107 The Editors Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 Editorial https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5108 The Editors Copyright (c) 2020 The Journal of the Friends Historical Society 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 10.14296/fhs.v67i1.5108 Recent Publications https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5114 The Editors Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 Biographies https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5115 The Editors Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 'Providing a Moral Compass for British People': The Work of Joseph Tregelles, Evan Rees and The Herald of Peace https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5110 Richard C Allen Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 John Edward Southall: Quaker and Welshman https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5111 Gethin Evans Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 No 'Friends' Of Home Rule? https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5112 Sean Beattie Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1 Mary Elmes (1908-2002), the first Irish 'Righteous' https://journals.sas.ac.uk/fhs/article/view/5113 Bernard Wilson Copyright (c) 0 2020-02-04 2020-02-04 67 1
