Tony Ward discusses the use of expert evidence in comparing digital images derived from surveillance camera photographs with facial images of a suspect, arguing that while such evidence has serious limitations, the courts are right to admit it, but they are wrong to allow juries to convict on the basis of such evidence alone.Index words: digital images; expert evidence; videos; CCTV; facial mapping
