Abstract

The author calls for a concerted attack on the root causes of poverty, poor governance and slow infrastructure development to combat the growth of HIV/AIDS. Article based on a public lecture delivered at the IALS on 4th July 2001 by Dr Dayanath Jayasuriya (Attorney-at-Law; Director-General, Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka).
