The e-signature in Taiwan: consent, integrity and accessibility

This paper introduces Taiwan’s 2001 Electronic Signature Act (‘the Act’). The Act centres around three main principles that render electronic records and e-signatures having the same legal effect as their traditional counterparts: consent between both parties; the integrity of the electronic records, and the accessibility of such records in the future.
